We were contacted a few months ago by a lady, who asked for our help in rescuing 2 cats, Buddy and Magnus.  We have since rehomed Magnus to a great home and now it's Buddy's turn!

Buddy was terrified when he first arrived;  he seemed almost feral, so scared and shy and not willing to trust.  Who knows what had happened to this cat during his life?

A very handsome cat of around 4-6 years old, he has been neutered, wormed, flead and will soon be micro-chipped.  Buddy would benefit from a very patient and, perhaps, experienced cat person  who has the time to offer him to settle-in and not expect too much at first;  and to be delighted by the little leaps of faith that happen when caring for a cat like Buddy. Little milestones, like the first stroke and the first time he walks over to you!  He has been very brave and has done so well with his fosterer but we would really like to see him settling in his own home, as all rescue cats deserve.  We offer good, sensible advice and follow-up contact to ensure Buddy and all our cats settle-into their new homes.  We really care at AARU and hope that comes over in our rehoming process, every cat is equally important to us.  We feel he's now turned a corner and is ready to go on our website to look for a home.

This is a comment by the lady who rescued him and recently visited him to see how he was doing:

It was lovely to see Buddy earlier. He certainly is a lot braver than the last time I saw him and looking in great condition. His coat is so clean and he's put on some weight. He did surprise me how much he loved a fuss, although he is still wary if you make a sudden movement. He just kept going from Melinda and me enjoying the fussing!

If you would like to meet shy Buddy, then do contact us by telephoning 0115 9205172 {or please leave a message on the answer-phone and your call will be returned} Or emailing us at admin@aaru.org.uk

We home-check all owners prior to an adoption offer and ask that you do not live on or near a busy road.
