How do you think it must feel to be Cleo?

This poor ginger and white girl was adopted by someone whilst a kitten. She was the only animal in the house, being the centre of attention for 15 years.

Then, one day, her owners decided to get themselves a new dog. Quite understandably, Cleo found this a little difficult to get used to and wasn't terribly happy with the new situation. So her owners decided to keep the dog and get rid of Cleo.

So now she is confused and wondering what went wrong, what she must have done to be taken from her beloved home and put in a new and strange place.

This is what Cleo's fosterer has written about her:

"She's absolutly adorable, in personality and looks. She's an old girl at 15, but her coat is nice and so soft and her personality is that of a cat much younger. If i didnt know her age i would have guessed she was more around age 10. So i think she has many more good years left in her.

She loves to sit on knees and have a cuddle, and is always purring. In fact whenever she hears voices, she starts purring. She is a little nervous, and not really sure what she's doing here, but is so glad when somone strokes her. I think she is just happy to be getting some attention. She does wait for the attention to come to her. She keeps laying on a cusion, (the one in the photo) and purring her head off, almost as if she is demanding that you come and stroke her.

I believe poor cleo has been left outside for the past few months, and only been fed and given water. So its no wonder she's so pleased to be getting cuddles.

She's a very quiet cat, and i think she may have been hit by someone at some point as she flinches at sudden hand movements, but despite this she is very affecionate. You can pick her up and cuddle her and she'll just purr. Put her on your knee and she'll purr even louder.

She deserves a permanent home when she can get lots of cuddles and then her true personality can shine. She does seem to be a bit nervous of my dogs and cats, but she has sat on the floor and eaten with her back to the dogs and has ran past our cats, without hissing, she's also quite happy to sleep in the same room as the other cats. So i think with time she'll get used to them. I think coming here has been a bit of a shock to the poor girl. She"s gone from being a loving only cat, and the centre of attention, to being kicked out by a new dog and finally end up here where there are other cats and dogs. She doesn't know what she did wrong. I feel so sorry for her.

She has been fully vaccinated by her owners and I have the record card for this, she also has been deflead and was neutered some time ago.

She really is a lovely cat."

Please help us to give this sweet little cat another chance to be happy again.

What a stunning girl - she has a kind face just like Biggsie.

Like Trace, I can't believe her ex-owners have done this to her.  My numbers would increase by 2 AARU kitties if Milly's stress induced cystitus wasn't such a problem.

She looks so much like Biggs's long lost big sister that surely even DM would see it and be nice to her????

I feel sorry for the dog as well---the people don't deserve to have animals.

I agree I was thinking that last night, what if they get fed up with the dog.  I think it should be law if you get a pet you have to keep them (unless special circumstances).  If a pet owner replaces one with a dog in my eyes it's abuse and they should be fined and unable to have another.  Angry1
