Fraid so- he's a super catas well, just shy and abit feisty at times when he gets scared.

Don't know what we can do to home him- he's on CC as a Top Cat

Such a shame he's so handsome, he and sosage would make a lovely pair.  No more cats for me though not fair on my old Harry.
Saying thank you when someone holds the door open for you does not make you a lesser person.

can peeps have a look at the narrative and give any suggestions how it can be altered. Not a sniff  for this cat. He is affectionate, in a SSS sort of way, and is shy when people go round. But I can't understand why he's still here and I wondered if his details are putting peopke off

The only reason i wouldnt adopt him (if we were looking!) is that he needs to be an only cat and that he might give you a gentle tap, something i couldnt have with a small child around.

But i personally thinks he sounds like he has bags of personality and would be very rewarding for the right owner.

I have just read the narrative for him and as i was reading i couldnt see why no one would even ask about him...until i got to this bit..

For all his lovely, funny ways, he doesn't mind letting you know if you step out
of line. Therefore, I feel that experienced owners who won't be put off by a gentle
smack if they get something wrong, would ideally suit him! Given time and understanding
and a lot of TLC Jackson is becoming a good friend and companion.

For me i thought ahhh.....and maybe that is what others think when they read it. Maybe this needs to be reworded  to sound not so scary. People need to know this part of his personality but it makes him sound a little aggressive...i feel. I think it needs softening..if you can understand this.

I know many cats that are like Jackson....and i think are suited to those peeps who work all day and want a cat who sits near them ..and not 1 who they want to pick up all the time and have as a lap cat.

That's how i read it anyway...not sure if that is any help

Sorry- this is the latest from our site and I think Cat Chat

Here is what his loving fosterer has to say about him:

Jackson has had to be independent and live off his wits in a solitary life. He had an owner once but something happened and he became homeless.

We do know he can be a little withdrawn and shy with strangers. He doesn't 'talk' to you as such, as some cats do, so he won't train you with meows! I don't think he has ever been spoken to much, before coming to AARU, as he seemed unsure of us at first. However, Jackson does like to be fussed and purrs but then he remembers he's an independent boy and tries to act all tough. But we know him now and he can't fool us !We think the most important thing for Jackson, when you take him home, will be to continue to help him to relax and grow in confidence with his human friends. You will be well rewarded, as we have been! Jackson has an interesting personality- at times a little anxious, often playful, intelligent and inquisitive. You can't open a cupboard or a box without him wanting to know what's in it! He doesn't really like change but, there again, not many cats do, but thrives under regular routine. We took a photo of Jackson up the Christmas tree, we think he looks so cute, he enjoyed playing with the decorations, in fact he loves playing and is fun to watch. Just recently he has been brave enough to sit on James's knee and he has also ventured upstairs on his own and had a snooze on the bed. I know these may seem like small triumphs but they are all things he has never done before and are a step towards Jackson gaining more confidence about being in a home and feeling secure. He is truly a very deserving cat and we feel sad that he has been ignored in favour of more "cuddly" and extrovert cats. Jackson would love to be able to explore outside, in time to enjoy the Spring sunshine.Jackson is looking for a kind and patient owner, who will allow him to progress at his own pace. Probably children over the age of 14 years would be best and he would prefer to be the only cat in the house. Jackson is around 6 years old, litter-trained and has been neutered.

That sounds fine to me. I think he is just 1 of those cats that appear to need alot of work and time...maybe that is what is putting peeps off and not him himself. That is such a shame....because in reality it isnt work at all...just time and a bit of understanding and patience.,,he will make a fab cat for someone.
